Coach Corey Wright, Sr.

Coach Corey Wright, Sr. is the head girls basketball coach at Serra High School in San Diego, CA.  He has been at the helm of the Lady Q's for the past 9 years compiling a pretty impressive 156-88 record in his tenure.  Coach Wright was named San Diego County Coach of the Year in 2012 after leading the Lady Q's to their first ever CIF appearance and win.  The Lady Q's followed up in 2013 going back to the CIF Championship only to fall short in their repeat efforts.  The season was not a disappointment 2013 because that class began a string of League championships that included a 50 game win streak in a 5 year period.  Coach wright has turned the lady Q program into one of the top in the county during his tenure.

   

     A retired 20 year Navy veteran, Coach Wright resides in the community of Tierrasanta with his beautiful wife Irene and blessed with a blended family of 12 children (10 girls, 2 boys).  After retirement, Wright wanted to follow his passion to find his purpose in his next career and that lead him to the game of basketball.  Coach Wright was a very talented basketball player growing up in the Phoenix, Arizona area.  After high school, he joined the Navy and played several years at many different levels and played all over the world.  Basketball is the closest sport to everyday life in Wright's eyes.  He loves the thrill of competition in all that you do.
